A fun way to learn – Workshop with Will Jenner-O’Shea
The SBC Workshop runs approximately once a month, usually on a Friday. It is a combination of lessons and practice hands – a fun learning for all levels of players.
The next Workshops are now open for booking:
- Friday July 26th – Defence Techniques. Card Placing and Counting Tricks. [flyer] Work Out Where Missing Honours Are. Opening Leads and Mid Game Leads (What to Lead Back). Interpret Your Partner’s Opening Lead. Count the Declarer’s Tricks, and the Defender’s Tricks. Card Placing and Counting Tricks.
- Saturday June 27th (half day) – Mastering Negative, Responsive and Support Doubles [flyer] Knowing Exactly What A Double Means. Advanced and Expert Responses to Doubles. When to Pass a Double For Penalties. Bidding to the Best Contract in A Contested Auction.
- Saturday August 31st (full day) – Competitive Bidding [flyer] Know how to bid. When to Push Them. When to Double. Scoring, Sacrifices and Game Try Bids. Lots of Competitive Bidding Practice Hands with Play and Defence Tips.
For full-day Workshop (usually on a Friday), $60 for members $65 for visitors. $30 for Youth players. A delicious morning tea and a light lunch are included. These workshops run from 10am until around 3pm (later if you wish to practise more) at Goulburn Street. An all-day practical lesson with Notes and Tips provided. Suitable for Intermediate / Open / Advanced level.
For half-day Workshop $30 for members $35 for visitors and $15 for Youth players. A substantial morning tea is included. These workshops run from 10am until 1pm. The half day workshops are designed for players of specific levels.
