The Grand National Open Teams (GNOT) is Australia’s premier bridge event, organised by the Australia Bridge Federation. It involves Club Heats, Regional Finals, National Qualifier & Finals across the whole country. As one of the biggest clubs in New South Wales, Sydney Bridge Club is privileged to run a Direct Qualifying event, in which the winner will progress directly to the National Qualifier. The GNOT is so special because this is the ONLY event that will offer GOLD masterpoints in local club heats and regional finals.

The SBC GNOT Direct Qualifier (Metro+) is the ONLY Face-to-Face GNOT DQE in NSW. It will be held one-day on Saturday 14th March 2026. GOLD masterpoints. The event will qualify one team directly to the GNOT National Qualifying (online) from 18th-20th September 2026.

The GNOT National Final will be held F2F in Brisbane from 27th-29th November (plus a Plate event running F2F alongside for open entries).

One seventh of the field in the SBC GNOT Direct Qualifier will also qualify to the GNOT Sydney Metropolitan Final (F2F) in Sydney Bridge Club from 22nd – 23rd August.

The event will naturally attract premier players who aim to qualify to the national level. However the event is OPEN to any challengers who would like to force up their game. A golden experience.
